Texans sign defensive tackle Eric Smith to one-year deal
Lubbock, Texas – The Houston Texans have signed defensive tackle Erick Smith to a one-season contract, according to multiple reports.
The deal includes $5.6 million guaranteed, according the Dallas Morning News.
Smith, 28, started 15 games last season, registering a sack and three quarterback hurries.
The 6-foot-2, 277-pounder has spent the past four seasons with the Houston Texans, starting 13 of the team’s 15 games from 2012-15.
In 2017, Smith started four games at left tackle for Houston, registering 17 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
Smith will wear #49.
He was a seventh-round pick of the Chicago Bears in the 2017 NFL Draft.
